Description

Messier 1, NGC 1952, Sh2-244, LBN 833  is an emission nebula in the constellation Taurus. First observed in 1731 by John Bevis it is located approximately 6.3 thousand light years from Earth. Its diameter of approximately 11 light years increases by another 1,500 kilometers every second. At the center of the nebula is the pulsar PSR B0531+21, rotating around its axis 30 times per second, emitting radiation in the range from gamma waves to radio waves.
It is very interesting as an astrophotographic object because you can observe changes in its shape even within a few years. I recommend a very interesting work by Detlef Hartmann, which  shows changes over 10 years.
As one of the few DSO objects, it shows the same brightness in each of the three filters Ha, OIII and SII - so it is a relatively attractive object for SHO play. Unfortunately, it is not very large and reasonable details can be obtained at a scale below 1 arcsec/pix.
SHO stars used.
