Description

Most people don’t realize it, but the Andromeda Galaxy is a huge object in the night sky. The bright core is faintly visible to the naked eye in the countryside, but if you could see the whole galaxy, it is actually six full moon diameters across. Andromeda contains a trillion stars and is 2.5 million light years away...crazy big numbers. The camera sensor I have couldn’t fit it all in one frame, so four separate picture stacks were stitched together to create a mosaic. This was my first real attempt at a 4 panel mosaic and I struggled a bit with some of the gradients.
