Description

This image is composed with two nebulaes:

- SH2-129 (Ha nebula): Flying Bat nebula (Nébuleuse de la Chauve-Souris)
- OU4 (Oiii nebula): squid nebula (nébuleuse du calamar)

OU4 is a recent discovery made in 2011 by Nicolas Outters, called the "Squid Nebula" due to its shape, but more officially called Ou4. This region is characterized by a very faint OIII emission and its bipolar shape reminds of a planetary nebula. (Source Wikipedia)

The pdf document of Nicolas Outters about his discovery:

I met a lot of difficulties in the post-treatment of this image. I keep a very faint level for the O3 signal in order to keep the transparency with Halpha just under.
