Description

2h30min of integral Ha exposure of the LHA 115-N 78 HII complex [1] (in the middle) and the accompanying structures including
  • NGC 371 (in the lower left corner),
  • compact DEM S131 HII region [2] (in the middle upper area),
  • one LHA 115-N 80 HII complex [3] with some very interesting structures inside (in the upper corner)

- all located in the "NE end" of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). Captured remotely using Telescope #3 (ASA-N D = 0.5m f/3.8, FLI ProLine 16803) system of ChileScope over two imaging sessions carried out on Jan 1 & 5, 2024.

Partial star suppression is applied. Lots of fine structure details are recovered here, especially in the version with full star suppression (revision B).

The cropped version of the  LHA 115-N 80 HII complex [3] with full star suppression is shown below at 200% of original resolution:

A narrower FOV view of the LHA 115-N 78 [1] obtained with Chilescope T1 instrument is also available under [4].
