Description

This object is nearly 70 light-years across and 8,000 light-years away. The atoms in the nebula are ionized by the Cygnus OB3 association of hot, blue stars. For some reason, astrobin only annotated stars. LBN 171 is at upper left. The black hole, Cygnus X-1, is associated with the star just peeking over the edge of the field at lower right (the bright one with diffraction spikes).
