Description

This is Barnard 228, the Dark Wolf Nebula in the constellation of Lupus, a dark nebula best imaged in broadband, not to be confused with the Wolf Nebula in Scorpius, best imaged in narrowband due to the surrounding hydrogen emissions.  I'm guessing this nebula is named after the constellation because I can't see a wolf in the molecular cloud, although the common names of a lot of nebulae do stretch the imagination a bit.
