Description

The Popped Balloon or Garlic Bulb nebula is a Supernova remnant in the constellation of Cassiopeia, originally catalogued, mistakenly, by George Abell as a planetary nebula. It is extremely faint, especially in OIII so a long integration time is needed. Unfortunately the weather has been unkind since I started this project so I've only managed 2 hours of OIII which is totally inadequate to show the signal clearly. I hope to add to this at some point in the future if I ever get a clear Moonless night again!!
