Description

The darling of (Southern Hemisphere) Summer... SH2-308 Dolphin Nebula

While I collected the Oiii on Wednesday night, I noticed that the brightest star in this field is naked eye visible from my Bortle 5 yard. Nice to know that when I look up at Canis Major, I am "seeing" this on the rear flank of the pooch.

This persnickety porpoise has tested the limits of my skills and gear. The Ha is still not super strong at 25 x900s subs, Oiii used 30 x600s because I forgot my strategy over the days between collecting each set 🙃

Think it needs a faster image train than f/7.6 but here it is in HOO with a couple of stars collected with the 163C through El Bucko layered in. Still haven't cracked the HOO combination code to make really natural looking stars from narrowband data.
