Description

The Splinter Galaxy is sometimes called the Cat Scratch Galaxy or Knife Edge Galaxy. It is fairly bright at magnitude 11.8 in Draco at a distance of 50 million light years. It has 2 NGC numbers, one supposedly refers to a part of the dust lane to the west of the main galaxy.

Wikipedia has a wonderful picture of a faint stellar tidal stream encircling the galaxy which is not visible in my shot (or in my original data).

This is my first attempt at trying to control the stars. Previously I let them get too big and bloated, which diminished their colour as well. I posted my 'Bloated Stars Edition' as version C so I can track my progress with this technique.
