Description

Rarely imaged, NGC1679 is an kidney shaped galaxy with a trace of spiral structure and perhaps a faint central bar. Located est. 49 million light years away. Dimensions 3' x 2.2' with surface brightness of 23.54 [Cartes du Ciel]. Another source puts its size down to 2.7' x 2.0', which makes it on pixel scale a bit more consistent with my other images.
