Description

Messier 81 (also known as NGC 3031 or Bode's Galaxy) is a grand design spiral galaxy about 12 million light-years away, with a diameter of 90,000 light years, in the constellation Ursa Major. At its center sits a super massive black hole.

This was the first light of my new TS Optics 130mm Photoline Triplet - however, it took me quite some nights to get proper images. I struggled with several tracking issues, resulting in the loss of 60-70% of my subs each imaging session. The refractor might be getting too heavy for the CGEMii, maybe time for an upgrade.

In the end, not near as many subs as I wanted to get, hence quite a noisy image.
