Hello!
Here is my second image this season (summer break during Scandinavian summer). I wanted to image this object for so long, but I always forgot it for some reason. This winter I imaged this beautiful object while I was waiting The Christmas Tree nebula to rise above the trees and then again when The Christmas Tree disappeared behind the trees. With the help of Stellarium with customized background (my backyard) I could "program" N.I.N.A. to switch between the objects in the right time during the night.
The gear had to make two meridian flips per night while I was sleeping , but with the temperature around -16C (+3F), the cables where quite stiff and I was worry that they could come loose or even brock, but everything went well all three nights
The last night the gear was operating for the most part at -20C (-4F).
The weather conditions were terrible as I mentioned in the previous image, but I was so happy to be out and collect photons again. It was so wonderful to have two clear (well almost) nights with only 1 day apart instead for the usual months.....and so happy also that, technically everything went well despite the cold.
The data was quite easy to process and the result is an integration in PixelMath in Pixinsight of the original image (just processed with DBE) and the same image processed with Hubble palette (0.7+0.4 ratio).
Hm... to me it looks more like a floating ghost than a elephant trunk
