Description

Time-lapse animation created from 469 recordings between 09:54 and 13:57UT on February 25th 2023. Each recording was 25 seconds long with a framerate of 30fps (750 frames) and 5 seconds delay between each recording. The total amount of data recorded was 1,42TB.

The recordings where obtained using a Coronado SolarMax 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ZWO ASI 178mm. Everything was mounted on a ZWO AM5 mount and guided with a Hinode SolarGuider.

The best 100 frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!3 before they were aligned, sharpened and contrast-stretched in ImPPG.

Variable seeing and some scattered clouds resulted in 43 recordings having to be tossed during processing.

The final animation was created in PIPP at 20fps effectively compressing the 4 hours 3 minutes of duration down to just 21 seconds.
