Description

I needed to check my new adjustable flattener on a well known subject, so it was easy to chooce M31 given the season.
So yes... another Andromeda galaxy...
Until now I was using my refractor only with the 0.8x reducer/flattener (384mm f/4.8).
So now I have two options with this scope; this image was shot at 480mm f/6.
I was curious of the final result with this gear also because of the little bit improved arcsec/pixel (1,98 vs 2,48) - which is still far from ideal but anyway interesting to check.

The weather decided to let me have about 10h of Ha from L-eNhance and 8h of Uv-Ir, which I collected from my Bortle 8 city sky light polluted.
Also this was interesting for me, because all my previous M31 were shot with a LP filter (and without Ha), so this one is the first in Uv-Ir.

Finally, I was able to install the Zwo Eaf on the refractor, so this is my first image on this scope without manual focus. I set the refocus after 15 images, and the result seems very consistent thru the whole night to me. I'm very happy of this.

In short, 3 tests here: the flattener, the Uv-Ir+Ha on M31, and the Eaf.
