Description

Finally!  Clear Night - No Moon - No Smoke!  I had three wonderfully clear nights to capture photons all night!

This is the first project from that effort.

SH2-112 is a diffuse emission nebula located 5,600 light-years away in Cygnus.

I was quite surprised to see that there seems to be little known or written about this target.  I had never heard of it before, so it was completely new to me, but it clearly is not as well known as other targets in Cygnus.  I found a good grouping of images of this in Astrobin - which is where I stumbled on it in the first plave - using the "Explore Constellation" feature.  It's a shame that there is not more background available on it - it's such an interesting and beautiful target!

I shot this as a narrowband image but was also able to capture some RGB subs so that I could replace the narrowband stars with true RGB stars.

Full details on the project, including a detailed step-by-step image processing walkthrough, can be seen on my website here:

Thanks for looking!

Clear Skies,
Pat
