Description

Revision:
The weather sort of cooperated and a second night of imaging allowed additional Ha and Luminance data to be incorporated into the original night. This allowed for a bit more detail to resolve.

Last night I was finally able to capture first light on my new EdgeHD 8. I was pleasantly surprised by how well my HEQ5 Pro managed the load. I still need to make some adjustments to the OAG in an effort to increase the number of guide stars. All things considered, my first time using an OAG went better than I expected. I had hoped to obtain more data but high clouds moved in and a lot of subs did not make it past the subframe selection process. The weather is looking pretty grim for the near future but I hope to add more data at some point. Initial impression of the Edge optics is very positive - the stars do not have the wonky shapes and weird spikes that my 6 SE did.
