Description

NGC 925 is a barred spiral galaxy located about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.

For reasons I ignore it is scarcely ever imaged !! Just two pages on Astrobin... Surprising. Or not, given that it is quite faint.

It was really quite a challenge to get some decent data from my 6 inch SCT. People who know me here on Astrobin are used to quite quick shots from me, as I am lacking imaging opportunities. This time I managed to benefit from two half nights and more than 8h of data could be collected. For a galaxy this is a personal record !

So what all the people with their 30 cm + telescopes and 15 clear nights a month are waiting for to image it ? .

I tried to keep colours as natural at it appeared to me (this depends on our brain and screens). I am not a big fan of lagoon blue and deep orange stars.
No Topaz manipulation here, I only used a very slight Unsharp mask for the L core.

Hope you can appreciate it.
