I do not hide the fact that I have always had a soft spot for Scarlett Johansson who, among other things, played the role of Black Widow, but this is not the case. Indeed, I have always been intrigued, since I was a boy, by this great dark cloud that looms between IC 1396 in Cepheus and NGC 7000 in Cygnus.

The complex does not have a vulgar name (such as the Pipe Nebula, Coal Sack, Snake, etc.) but is born from the fusion of some dark nebulae present in the LDN catalog (Lynds Catalog of Dark Nebulae).

Although I don't usually give in to pareidolia, it is undeniable that this complex is very reminiscent of the well-known arachnid, especially in ultra-deep images like this one, where it also shows eight "legs".
