Description

HaLRGB image of NGC 1788 ("the Cosmic Bat") a reflection nebula embedded in a larger structure of dust and H-alpha emission. This is an interesting target, with the glowing hydrogen seeming to line the columns of faintly illuminated dust.

I struggled for a while to find a crop that was pleasing. The nearby bright stars plus a rather awkward shape make this object a challenge to frame in appealing way.
