Description

The feathery Eastern Veil Nebula! I took this image just before dawn on the morning of May 16th. Found within the constellation of Cygnus, the Swan, it's located almost 1500 light from Earth. This cloud of ionized dusty gas is the remnants of an exploded star, a supernova event that happened 7000 years ago. Gaseous hydrogen glows red while oxygen ions provide the delicate cyan hue. Two-hour image stacked from 60 two-minutes exposures with the RASA8 / ASI294.
