Description

We 2-262 is a looped nebula that is near the supernova remnant CTB 1. It was discovered by Ronald Weinberger of the Max-Planck Institute by examining the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey plates.  I could not find too much information on the nebula and it is not frequently imaged.  There seems to be some discussion if it is a planetary nebula or a HII region.  I selected this small (about 4' diameter faint object) as as an interesting photography challenge.  The nebula structure only became apparent after close examination of the stacked data and for awhile I thought I may have missed it completely.  Ha data was obtained for the red nebula structure with the RGB for the stars.
