Description

The Whirlpool Galaxy (M51)- Discovered in 1773 by Charles Messier, M51 is located 31 million light years from earth in the constellation Canes Venataci. This is one of the most studied and photographed galaxies in the night sky due to its face on view and relative closeness to our own planet.
