Description

January 19-20 and 20-21, 2024, NGC 1624 (Sh2-212), The Tribble Nebula, Barnard 20 and multiple LDN nebulae in constellation Perseus imaged from suburban Little Rock, Arkansas on cold, bright moonlit nights.    The moon was extremely bright and very near this target.   I imagine images of this area can be much better in darker skies w/o a bright moon.

Various sources describe NGC 1624 as a star cluster, about 9 light-years across, embedded inside an emission nebula.  It was discovered in 1790 by William Herschel.   NGC 1624 is the star cluster inside the "small" nebula.   Barnard 20 dark nebula is left and slightly down from NGC 1624.    There appears to be quite a bit of dust and dark nebulosity in this area.   Planning to add more hours to this in the future to see what  pops out.
