Description

The Heart Nebula (IC 1805 or Sh2-190) is about 7500 light years from us and is located in the constellation Cassiopeia.
It is an emission nebula that displays bright ionized hydrogen gas and darker dust streaks.
The nebula's intense red emission and its morphology are driven by radiation emanating from a small group of stars near the center of the nebula. This open cluster of stars, known as Melotte 15 or Collinder 26, contains some bright stars that have a mass nearly 50 times that of our Sun and many other faint stars that are only a fraction of the mass of our Sun.

I took data for three nights in narrowband and one night in broadband, for the stars. But then I processed both the SHO image (with RGB stars) and the RGB image.

Here you can compare the SHO (final version) with the RGB (original image) using hover.
From the comparison between the two images it can be seen that the processing in Hubble Palette highlights the different composition of the gases (oxygen in blue versus hydrogen and sulphur) which in the RGB image instead appear in various intensities of red, also because the hydrogen signal it's much stronger.
