This molecular cloud is located 1000 light years away in the constellation of Serpens at a declination of -2 degrees.   It is about 1 degree wide, which corresponds to an actual width of 18 light years.

Although little is known about this faint object, it does have many names - Sh2-33, LBN 37, G8.22+36.34, and MBM 38.  LBN objects are rated in brightness from 1 (brightest) to 6, and this object is a 5.  LBN 36, seen on the left side of the image, has the dimmest LBN brightness rating of 6.

If you enjoy these faint white molecular clouds, please see my Astrobin collection of them here.

The galaxy seen at the right center of the image, at 15:57:12 RA and -01:32:31 DEC, is LEDA 56472.  This galaxy appears small in our apparent view but is large in actual size.  It is at a distance of 0.75 billion light years and has a diameter of 180,000 light years.
