Description

Posidonius is a closed plain (95 km, 2300 m deep). It is shallow and the interior has been covered by a lava flow in the past. The soil is irregular and uneven, it has a fault system called Rimae Posidonius.

The other curiosity of this region is the presence of a vast system of lunar ridges that border the Sea of Serenity.

The Smirnov Ridge is only visible in the vicinity of the terminator (here in the lunar twilight) with its few hundred meters in height and its rounded top, hence the interest of this view 2 days before the first quarter.

Technically, I made a selection of the best images (80% quality on AS) of 3 videos of 2 minutes each, or 440/24000 images.
