M78 é uma nebulosa de reflexão na constelação de Orion. Foi descoberta por Pierre Méchain em 1780 e incluída por Charles Messier no seu catálogo de objetos esse mesmo ano.

M78 é a nebulosa difusa de reflexão mais brilhante de um grupo de nebulosas que inclui NGC 2064, NGC 2067 e NGC 2071. M78 é facilmente visível em pequenos telescópios como uma mancha difusa e inclui duas estrelas de magnitude 10. Estas duas estrelas, HD 38563A e HD 38563B, são responsáveis de fazer a nuvem de pó em M78 visível ao refletir sua luz.

M78 is a reflection nebula in the constellation of Orion. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1780 and included by Charles Messier in his catalog of objects that same year.

M78 is the brightest diffuse reflection nebula in a group of nebulae that includes NGC 2064, NGC 2067 and NGC 2071. M78 is easily visible in small telescopes as a diffuse spot and includes two magnitude 10 stars. These two stars, HD 38563A and HD 38563B, are responsible for making the M78 dust cloud visible by reflecting its light.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
