Description

Sharpless 112 is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus situated around 5700 light years from us.
These quite old data from 2022 never really convinced me for processing but when I read the splendid description from Daniel Erickson I decided to give it a try.
Here is Daniel's page with a wonderful picture of the object and a lot of interesting details about the physics behind the nebula :

Technical notes for my shot : HOO composition (pure HOO => R =Ha, G= OIII, B= OII) with a masked balance between the channels because of the H domination even in the OIII active regions.
Starless HOO picture blended with RGB stars. The depth is not very high for more than 7h exposure but my Nextstar C6 was actually quite slow. Despite the reducer which provided a nominal f/8.2 ratio, the actual f/D was closer to f/10 with the central obstruction. This was the main reason why I moved to a f/7 refractor (f(/5.5 with reducer) this year.
Al the best,
Andreas
