Description

This is SMC, a dwarf galaxy satellite of the Milky Way. It is also located close to the south celestial pole, as is the LMC.

In this image we can also see one of the most distant globulars I have ever photographed, NGC 121, about 200 thousand light years away, a globular cluster belonging to another galaxy!
