Description

It has been a while since my last shared image, as I have been astro-inactive for most  of the last 12 months.  Since new year, I have been doing some maintenance and tuning of the setup (cleaning the optics, regreasing the mount, updating software/firmware, etc.), not without struggles. This would be my first test image of an area I have done many times before. I am excited about how the image turned out, in my perception, significantly better than my previous attempts. I was lucky to enjoy very good seeing for most of the four nights of imaging. At times, the RMS total guiding error held between 0.25" and 0.30", resulting in several 5-minute sub-exposures with FWHM less than 1.3", the best at 1.22"!! I don't recall ever achieving this level of performance in long exposures. No sub exceded 2" of FWHM in the data set, and the median sits in the range 1.6"-1.7".

For convenience, I am including here some close-up details which I find interesting.
