Description

The "Draco Triplet" consists of NGC 5981, NGC 5982 and NGC 5985 (which is the spiral galaxy in the bottom left of the field of view).

I named this picture "Draco Triplet and Friends" for two reasons.  Firstly, if you look closely at the image, there are innumerable smaller elliptical galaxies throughout the field.

The second reason, is that other "friends" decided to visit my telescope over the past few evenings.  After reshooting all of my flats and still getting dots across the finalized stacks, I realized that these dots were moving across the field as time progressed through the night.  This morning, I found a bunch of spiderlings who found the housing around my secondary mirror a great place to hang out.  Unfortunately, they got evicted today.

It was a worthwhile experience for me though because this picture represents the first time I have generated synthetic flats to callibrate out all the little spider friends that came to visit this weekend.  Hope you enjoy!
