Description

A composite HOO and RGB image, also included the plain RGB and HOO images for reference (mouseover with the HOO image)
Processed in PI. Cut down the resolution to 60% of original to keep file sizes somewhat reasonable.
SPCC for the RGB image and stars, BlurX, NoiseX, GHS, curves and masks and other tools, StarX to create the star layer.
Used NBNormalization tool for the HOO image.

The Rosette Nebula (also known as Caldwell 49) is an H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. The open cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) is closely associated with the nebulosity, the stars of the cluster having been formed from the nebula's matter.
