Description

Here's my first Cocoon Nebula, I hope you like it! Almost 3h each of R,G and B, 4h of Luminance and almost 4.5h of Ha taken with my 115mm f5.6 Apo refractor, Antlia filters, ASI183MM Pro camera from Bortle 7 and 4 skies in and around Munich, Germany over the past 3 weeks.
The Cocoon nebula in the center and the dust lanes running from the upper left of the image to the actual nebula are active star forming regions where interstellar dust and hydrogen gases agglomerate and once they acquire sufficient density light up to form a new star. The light emitted by the nebula is both reflective from the bright new stars in the center as well as emissions from the heated gases.
