Description

I have some old 2008 Astronomik 6nm SHO filters that are vulnerable to some rather odd halos around bright stars. Rather than lose these halos they turn up here like odd baubles , framing M42. It's a SHO colour palette with a few twists and all rather creative, although it isn't wildly manipulative either. It was taken in near full moon conditions (Bortle 7) with the ASI1600MM-Pro (not known for its AR coatings!) so was a real test for reflections both off filter and sensor surfaces and within the 8" f4 Newt. In the end I'm pretty happy with it given the three hours of data, although Santa is bringing me a new set of Astronomiks and an ASI2600MM-Pro so this is a bit of a last hurrah for this setup.
