Description

The listing in the Messier-catalogue for M102 happened in a hurry and without coordinates, the description was not accurate. So there is a controversy if Messier really ment this galaxy for number 102.

It is quite challenging to make this thin band of dust visible in the bright core, my 10" newtonian seems to be the lowest limit for the size of this galaxy and it's features, no furthrter details can be seen here.
Something must have happened in this night, only 82 subs were made. I had to go to bed because of work the following day, later I could not figure out what caused NINA to abort the session.
