To photograph IC 1396, which requires a larger field of view, so I took out my Lacerta 72/341 telescope. Shooting with a dual-narrowband filter was completely new to me. The challenge was to combine the material made with two types of filters to me.
For three nights, I took photos of the Elephant's Trunk Nebula with IDAS NBZ 2" dual-narrowband filter from my usual site. And on the fourth night, I have collected photons for the colorful stars from Törökkoppány in Hungary through an UV/IR filter.
The Elephant Trunk Nebula is an association of young star clusters and emission nebula in the direction of the constellation Cepheus. According to some sources the object is 1,600 light years away from us, and according to other sources it is 3,000 light years away. Even from this distance, the gigantic nebula complex covers a large region on the sky.
A cosmic number 3 can be seen in the picture.
