Description

It took a village to get this first light with this setup!

Took a break for a couple of months to focus on a couple projects happening at the house and work. Along the way, sold some gear bought some gear

I was planning on putting the Edge11 in Marathon but saw a RCOS 12.5 in Dallas up for sale and did not want to pass that up. I bought it for the only reason knowing @Anis Abdul would get me going. Sure, enough he did. The seller was gracious enough to deliver the scope at my home and help me set it up. I may have not secured the power to the Telescope's TCC II and ended up frying it. After looking through the forums, found the person who works on the TCC and reached out and got it repaired.

Borrowed an AP pier from @Number_5 to test and got another friend help me move the scope and the mount to the backyard, I tested it one night on this target for about 5hours and everything seemed to work well. Next step was, when do I take it to Marathon. July was mostly shot due to family stuff lined up and after talking to the boss, she said to go and come now.

It was a mad race, grabbing whatever I could and dump them all into boxes and prepping the car.

Drove up to Marathon with my son, got the FSA secured, the guys over there were asking, 'Well, where is your flat pier plate, lets secure and get your mount on'. I'm like uh-oh. Its in my garage. For the next two hours we were figuring out how to get the plate. After reaching out to @swordfish and @James, James told he will bring it halfway. Met him and got the plate and returned to Marathon.

Next day, worked on setting everything up in a few hours like an iron chef. Between testing all connections, slewing to see if there were any cable tugs, everything seemed to check out fine. Ran it on NGC6888 as a test and collect some O3 and RGB data for stars. Here is a 45 second video of this whole saga

The setup is working well, and I am testing data across SHO and LRGB and realized I need to rerun my filter offsets which I did last night. Need a few more things ironed out soon.

I am excited to put this setup to good use from Marathon.

Hope you like this result. Clear skies!
