Description

Here's another emission nebula from the Sharpless catalog. I shot this a couple of nights ago with a very bright Moon. Sh2-168 is a HII emission nebula located 12,000 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It's about 30 light years in diameter (~ 8 arc minutes from our perspective). Above and left of Sh2-168 is the very faint barely perceptible smudge of Sh2-169.
This is from a total manual post processing workflow where I throw out the outlier "bad" stars which in turn save me the best subs (Siril used for background extraction/ color calibration/registration/stacking/initial stretching, then it it is finished/touched up in Photoshop) Stars are processed separately. Shot from Bortle 4.5 skies. 1hr 45mins.
