Description

A mosaic that I began by accident turned into 5 panels framed so different that anyone who looked at them would say I didn't know what I was doing. They would be right! If I knew I could do mosaics I would have tackled this a lot differently, and so next time I attempt one I will. Most panels were 4 hours each, the Sadr Region / Crescent was just over 6 hours and the filler to the right of Sadr and below Tulip in this framing was almost 3 and a half hours.

I stacked each panel separate in Deep Sky Stacker then combined the stacks in Astro Pixel Processsor. I then processed the linear combination in Photoshop. I originally attempted to process the stretched combination from APP, and though the result was okay, this felt a lot better.

Processing consisted of color balance levels, curves, NoiseXterminator for noise reduction and Astrophotography Tools Actions for deep space noise, space noise and contrast.

All data was taken over the past two weeks except 4 hours of the Sadr Region which was taken last year.

Description: Attempted to work on stars but this file is huge so it was a rough go. Felt like this, though not as punchy, was better with stars.
