Description

I finally was able to image Phobos and Deimos - lucky imaging with lucky conditions tonight, and the orbits were both close and far enough to be able to crank up the gain. Phobos is the closer moon with an 8 hour orbit, and Deimos is the one further out, with a 30 hour orbit. Phobos appears brighter due to the amp glow from Mars.

The moons were extracted in Pixinsight, sharpened, and merged with the image of Mars with the same scale and orientation, taken 10 minutes prior.
