Description

Alpha Zhang suggested I look closer at his SII data for the Rosette.  It really does offer another way of looking at this interesting object.  It looks like he did a great job on the raw images!  The differences between the HA and SII are so striking that you wouldn't even know they were from the same object.

This data from Insight/Gemini observatories involved two imaging systems.  System 1 = Telescope: AG10 CDK F6.7 f=1665mm, Camera: FLI Proline 6303, Location:  Lijiang, China (Gemini Observatory).  System 2 = Telescope:  SkyRover 130APO Pro F7 f=910mm, Camera:  AtikOne, Location:  Kunming, China (Yunling Observatory).

A total of 29 fifteen minute SII images were combined from both systems for a total imaging time of 7.25 hours.  The image was processed with Photoshop and Pixinsight.
