Description

Another animation on Dec 30, 2022, from Hilo, HI.  AR 3180 had just rotated into view on the NE limb of the Sun.  I made a capture sequence covering 35 minutes from 2021-2056 UTC hoping to catch any action that close to the limb.  There was a small filament nearby and a small prom just south of AR 3180.  As it turned out, there were no explosive flares like in the nearby AR 3176 but some filament action in the upper right, a small surge prom, some minor flaring in the AR itself and some nice arching flow of material from the small quiescent prom making for a pleasant animation.

Equipment was a Lunt LS80THa, TeleVue 2.5x PowerMate and ASI174MM camera.  I captured 83 10 sec exposures by 15 sec delay using SharpCap.  Stacked in AutoStakkert!3, sharpened and aligned with ImPPG and animated using PIPP.
