Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a double ring barlense spiral galaxy located 240 million light years away in the constellation of Eridanus at a declination of -5 degrees.  It is a magnitude 14 galaxy which spans 2.0 arc-minutes in our apparent view if measuring the outer faint ring. This corresponds to a diameter of 140,000 light years.

A few small objects can be seen at the top of the inner ring.  I don’t think that these are small companions because of the lack of disk disturbance.

Several other faint edge-on galaxies are seen in the frame.
