Description

I finally can post this DSO feeling much better about the results. My first time capturing this target was last year at Cherry Springs as well. When shooting it last time, it was my first time at a true dark site and I took all filters off thinking that would be the best for the situation. I used 300s subs and was hopeful for something great. Unfortunately, the results proved to be less than satisfactory. The stars were completely blown out and I fell victim to a classic internal sensor diffraction that is commonly seen on the 1600MM and 294MC.
This time was different. With the use of the right filters and high speed optics I was able to achieve this much more natural looking version. I like going to Cherry Springs for many reasons, one of them is to be able to capture dark nebulae like this. So many incredible things out there to be seen.
