Description

Sh2-205 is sometimes referred to as the Little Peanut. However, I look at it and see the head of a crocodilian. Given the proximity to the Sh2-206 aka the Fossil Footprint Nebula, I think the crocodilian I see must be the Cretaceous era Deinosuchus.

My first attempt at this was as a three narrowband channel project. The Sii was reasonable in strength and extent, but the Oiii was only noteworthy in the vicinity of the Fossil Footprint. It just added noise everywhere else. I struggled with it, but once I dropped the Sii and Oiii it all came together.

This will be the last RedCat image until the summer Milky Way returns. I am looking forward to getting a larger refractor back on the mount, hopefully the Agema SD-150. I will also be trying to do more shooting from dark sky sites instead of my light polluted backyard.
