I don't have words to describe this beauty. This is my image of the Andromeda Galaxy that I have taken with a lot of passion and anxiety caused by the increased possibility of incoming clouds in September. With a lot of luck I managed to dodge the clouds and collected data in almost 5 consecutive nights. The Moon was not interfering as well as it was preparing for its new cycle.

After my own share of processing (as best as I could) I present to you how our neighboring galaxy could be seen for the past several nights from my terrace in Sofia with the help of the RASA8, the ASI2600MC, a light pollution filter and NINA.

There are a lot of cloud formations, HA and OIII regions. NGC 206 can be easily seen. I also found the Cepheid Variable Star V1 (a star that is situated in the Andromeda Galaxy itself) which Hubble observed back in Y1923 and used to determine that the Andromeda fuzzy patch was actually situated outside of our Milky Way and changed everyone's perception for the vastness of the Universe.

The background space is filled with PGCs, some of which don't show even in the catalogues.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
