Description

Captured 26th October 2022.
Location - Aberdeenshire, Scotland

25 x Ha Lights @ 300s
25 x OIII Lights @ 300s
25 x SII Lights @ 300s
25 x Flats for each filter
30 x Darks @ 300s
100 x Bias

Used Telescopius online for initial framing – minor framing adjustments and manual rotation adjustments prior to running Voyager Sequence.

Pre Processed in PixInsight to Star Registration using WBPP before using John Murphy’s Normalized Scale Gradient V2.2.3 Normalisation Data method to weight and stack each filter.

Post Processed in PixInsight - Background Neutralisation, Dynamic Background Extraction, Linear Fit and Dynamic Crop before using Pixel Math to combine with following combination:

Red = 0.3*SII + 0.7*Ha
Green = 0.3*Ha + 0.6*OIII + 0.1*SII
Blue = 0.9*OIII + 0.1*Ha

Removed stars, colour and luminance adjustments using Curves and Bill Blanshan’s colour masks and removed noise with Topaz DeNoiseAI before recombining with stars  using  Pixel Maths ~(~Stars*~Starless).

Finally I used Bill Blanshan's Star Reduction method V3 (Starnet/PixelMath) to reduce star size (1 iteration, mode 1).

Thanks to John Murphy for his fantastic, very effective and easy to use NSG script. Bill Blanshan for brilliant Process Icons including Star Reduction and Colour Masks, Adam Block for general online PixInsight processing information and fantastic videos. Big shout out to Leonardo Orazi for the Voyager software and the great personally answered support – reliable automated sessions every time.

Thanks as always to Salvatore Iovene for AstroBin and allowing everyone to share their efforts and allow others to enjoy them.
