Description

Gamma Cassiopeia Nebula is listed in both the Index catalogue as IC 63 and in the Sharpless catalogue as SH2-185.
The nebula is shaped by the radiation from bright star Navi, Gamma Cassiopeia, which actually lies several lightyears away from the nebula.
The eerie nebula, located  just in the neighbourhood of our solar system around 550 lightyears away, the Gamma Cassiopeia Nebula is listed in both the Index catalogue as IC 63 and in the Sharpless catalogue as SH2-185.
Well, the Gamma Cassiopeia nebula is actually the Sharpless2-185 and the "ghost" , the IC 63, is the little one on top of the nebula pointing almost directly at the star Navi.
The star is 19 times more massive and 65000 times brighter than our star, the Sun.
The vain queen of Ethiopia and her husband King Cepheus tried to sacrifice their daughter Andromeda, to the sea monster, no wonder she is haunted by ghosts.
