Description

Excellent guiding at 0.4-0.6AS/pixel with moderately low humidity.

This was a test of how much detail could be pulled from faint DSOs when there was a  new moon up while imaging from my backyard Urban Bortle7 skies - I left the scope out for 4 long winter nights to see what could be captured with an RC8 + FF + ASI6200MM full frame camera, sporting a very useful 1.5 degree FOV at 1624mm FL & F/8.2.

The answer is in the image above - a fair amount of detail with only modest gradients and vignetting that could be processed out.

The Astrobin plate-solving highlights 7 galaxies but I can spot a few more - impressive urban results under less than ideal conditions.
