Description

Hubble's famous Cepheid variable in M31 which led to the discovery that M31 was indeed an 'island universe' and not part of the Milky Way, article here from Sky & Telescope. This image taken on an unexpected clear night on November 13th when I thought I would add some colour to my image taken in 2019.
It has been said many times but the leap in technology from 1923 when it took Hubble 45 minutes with the 100" to capture his image to today when we can capture a colour image with a 12" reflector in much the same time to greater depth is amazing!

The position of V1 is RA 0h 41' 27" DEC +41 10' 10", mag ~18.5. Perhaps have a look at your own images for V1, it's almost certainly there
